Let's Get Coffee!

Let's Get Coffee!

Written by Jennifer Bartelt

Whether you follow BlogTO for their ‘Best of Toronto’ food and beverage posts or are a self-proclaimed coffee connoisseur, I think we can all agree that Toronto has no shortage of incredible coffee shops. Just as much as I enjoy my cup of joe (or several), I also love to explore Toronto! So, today, we are going to explore different neighbourhoods around the city for some of Toronto’s top-rated coffee shops, so lace up some comfy shoes and let’s get caffeinated!

West Side Shops

Okay, where do we start? Seriously, the west end of the city has SO many options for amazing coffee shops. Conveniently, living downtown I am within walking distance of some quality espresso, so latte cravings or a flavourful americano are just moments away. If you are enjoying some time at Stanley Park along King West be sure to check out Shy Coffee or Wallace Espressoconveniently located across the street from the park. Of course, if you live near King West you will likely be familiar with local gem Jimmy’s Coffee, with several locations peppered around the city, Jimmy’s Coffee is certainly one of my usual coffee destinations.

The options don’t end there, if you are exploring Queen West do yourself a favour and run, don’t walk to Fahrenheit Coffee. This has been a long (seriously, long) standing favourite of mine, with their signature diablo espresso, the smoothness of this blend will make you want to keep going back for more! If you’re heading to Trinity Bellwoods you can always visit Sam James Coffee Bar, or White Squirrel these are just a few of many great options in the West end of Toronto, but we aren’t done yet…let’s continue on!

But Wait, There’s More!

Happy to get acquainted with different neighbourhoods around the city and check out the houses (of course), I love making my way over to Kensington Market, recently I stopped along College St and discovered Manic Coffee. Initially, I walked past but decided to turn around and make my way into the shop. I am so happy I did, I was incredibly pleased with how delicious and flavorful their americano was and, upon the next visit how creamy the Oat Milk Latte is there! 100% I will be making my way back there. If you haven’t heard of Milky’s I highly suggest looking at their Instagram! Their IG is just as aesthetically pleasing as their actual menu – check out the Maple Milk, it’s a Canadian latte dream (chef’s kiss).

The List Goes On…

In the last of couple years, I have been spending plenty of time near Bloor West Village and Yorkville. I stumbled across a very popular little blue truck, and if you are familiar with this you’ll know I am talking about Jacked Up Coffee, with 3 (almost 4) locations owned by Jack, Jacked Up Coffee is more than just a coffee bus! This is one of the most friendly coffee stops I have been to in the city. I always love visiting Jacked Up for a friendly smile and a very tasty flat white! If you’re craving something sweet, be sure to check out Gold Struck Coffee for a tasty pastry and an excellent selection of espresso-based drinks too.

These are my top 10 (yes, 10!) go-to coffee shops to visit around Toronto, but believe me, there are many, many more! Toronto is a vast city with plenty of options. If you have a favourite coffee shop please share it with me! I am always excited to try new spots!

Until next time, stay caffeinated my friends.
